Garmon Negre 2020 75cl

Garmon negre is een wijn uit Ribera del Duero

Garmon heeft 16 maanden gerijpt op Frans eiken.
Garmon is een complexe rode wijn. Rijp zwart fruit, een vleugje kruiden, specerijen, "roasted tones" goede zuurgraad en een aangename afdronk.
Uitstekende combinatie met rood vlees, wild, boeuf bourguignon, paté, jamón en harde kazen.
Op dronk, maar kan zich tenminste tot 2025 nog verder ontwikkelen.
De optimale drinktemperatuur voor Garmon is 16°C.

The Wine Advocate:

"The second vintage of the only wine produced here, the 2015 Garmón is from a dry and warm vintage. It fermented by plot with a pied de cuve in stainless steel vats, where the wine also underwent malolactic fermentation. The élevage was in 225- and 500-liter French oak barrels and lasted some 16 months. There was a little more new oak in 2015, and the year delivered riper wines; they tried to compensate with more grapes from cooler zones within Ribera del Duero. It has some grainy tannins and a round, wide palate. It's a more powerful vintage.

I tasted the second and third vintages produced at the Ribera del Duero winery of the García family of Mauro fame. I took the opportunity to visit them in the new winery in the village of Olivares de Duero and taste their Mauro and Maurodos current offerings. They have the capacity to produce some 60,000 bottles here in Ribera del Duero. They have around 15 hectares of old rented vineyards in different villages (La Aguilera, Baños, Moradillo, Tubilla, Anguix...) and 15 hectares of new plantings of their own. 2015 is riper and 2016 fresher."
