La Font Voltada komt uit Conca de Barbera

12 maanden gerijpt op eiken.
La Font Voltada is een bijzondere, expressieve wijn gemaakt van 100% Trepat druiven. De aroma's doen denken aan kersen, bosbessen, specerijen (witte peper), eikenhout en bloemen. 

Op dronk, maar kan zich tenminste tot 2022 nog verder ontwikkelen. Serveren op 16ºC.

The Wine Advocate (betreft jaargang 2015; 2016 is nog niet beoordeeld):

"The pure Trepat Finca La Font Voltada was sourced from ancient vines in a warm and powerful vintage. The full clusters fermented with wild yeasts, and the wine matured in 600-liter oak foudres for 12 months. It almost made me jump from my seat with its beautiful nose of cracked peppercorns, dried roses and wet pumice stone, really floral, fragrant and expressive. I couldn't help but think of some of the volcanic reds from the Canary Islands—I just wonder what the link is. The palate is lively and vibrant with balance, pungent flavors and great persistence. Simply great! 

Abadía del Poblet is the project in Conca de Barberà from Cava giant Codorníu. Even though they started with Pinot Noir in 2014, they have since shifted toward local varieties: Trepat, Garrut and Garnacha in red and Macabeo, Parellada and Pansa in white. Priorat's Scala Dei's winemaker Ricard Rofes is in charge of the wines. The current output is around 25,000 bottles per vintage."
